By Co-founder, Fliss Berridge
Passionate Aussie Dennis Pintamalli has recently joined UK Open Banking FinTech, Ordo.
Dennis has worked for a number of start-ups, across Asia Pac and EMEA. He has assisted FinTechs turn into successful scale-ups, ensuring his legacy is a buoyant, established and secure business.
Being a veteran of the payments world (which, let’s face it, can get quite geeky) he’s comfortable with all things FinTech and finance, from acronyms and accounts, to tech stacks and transaction types!
Fliss Berridge, Ordo co-founder, had a chat with Dennis over coffee (One of his true passions) to find out how it’s going, 6 weeks in.
What made you join Ordo?
I have been fortunate enough to have worked for some great payment business’ across 2 hemispheres, with a broad spectrum of solutions at the pointy end of innovation. Open Banking to me is the next frontier in payments, and with the pedigree of the team here, and the fully hosted and white label Service on offer (that is unique and leading edge), across Request to Pay and Variable Recurring Payments, I couldn’t resist to join the Ordo journey!
How have you found it so far?
I feel like I have been here for much longer than 6 weeks!… And that is testament to the great people at Ordo. The Founders have welcomed me with open arms and we have already had great collaborations. I also have a fantastic team who are doing amazing things and its only the beginning!… Can’t wait for 2023!
What are you looking to achieve?
I want to keep building the great work the Ordo team have put together over the last couple of years, in the face of challenging times. I look forward to adding my commercial experience and continue to grow the Ordo brand in the market, not only through our sales and marketing teams, but also through our amazing partners across our key sectors, which we intend to grow further in the coming months and years… Stay tuned!
So you’re based near Manchester, how does that work?
I’m the Northern hub for Ordo! It’s great, Ordo has amazing office space in London, which I regularly attend, but it means for anyone outside of London, I can also visit in person, like our Channel Partners, Pay360 and AND Digital, who have offices in Manchester – I was just meeting them the other week and it’s great to be able to cover such distance without having to have multiple office overheads – that’s one of the benefits to come out of COVID, that perhaps people have to compromise less on where they live for their work, getting the best of both worlds, and that’s important for Ordo, to know it’s employees are happy where they’re based and the work life balance suits them.
Hobbies/Interests outside of work?
I’m pretty much a fan of all sports but especially Football and Formula 1. I’m a big Big Manchester United fan, I love to run and go for walks in the Cheshire Countryside – clears the head; and I make time for quality time with the Family (incl. our Sausage Dog Kevin).
